Night Shift Hospitalist Physician

Loyal Source Government Services is seeking a full-time Night Shift Hospitalist Physician to provide hospital medicine services at Fargo VA Medical Center in Fargo, ND.

About the Role

Hospitalist Physicians perform admission and coordination of all aspects of care for hospitalized medical patients at the Fargo VA Medical Center. They deliver high-quality, compassionate, and consistent care to all individuals.

Responsibilities

• Provide evaluation and treatment, including ordering and interpreting diagnostic studies (laboratory, diagnostic imaging, electrocardiographic examinations) and administering medications within the scope of hospital medicine.
• Discuss end-of-life preferences and advanced care planning.
• Consult with sub-specialists and coordinate care with patients' primary care physicians.
• Handle patient discharge and ensure appropriate follow-up is arranged.
• Assess, stabilize, and determine the disposition of inpatients with emergent conditions, including running code teams and rapid response teams.
• Review all admissions to inpatient hospital care recommended by Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner providers.
• Provide consultation and instruction to referring physicians regarding appropriate indications for procedures.
• Initiate social work referrals for identified homeless veterans and patients without primary care providers.
• Follow all established medication policies and procedures; no sample medications shall be provided to patients.
• Provide notification of test results to patients.
• Complete appropriate QM/PI documentation for all procedures, complications, and outcomes of examinations.
• Document all patient care provided.

Requirements

• Current license to practice medicine in any U.S. State, Territory, Commonwealth, or the District of Columbia (North Dakota Medical License preferred).
• Board certification in Internal Medicine.
• Active BLS or ACLS certification.
• DEA Registration.
• Minimum of two (2) years of recent experience with Primary Care Physician Service.

Pay

$170.00 per hour.

Schedule

• 12-hour shift: 7:00 p.m. – 7:00 a.m.
