About the role
Plastipak Lead Machine Operators are responsible for coordinating production activities and personnel. You will communicate with the Supervisor and Shift Maintenance about the reliability of the equipment within the department and work closely with them to maintain shift operational objectives.
Responsibilities
- Identify and address issues on equipment within the department up to and including basic repairs, and communicate them to the Team Leader and Shift Maintenance.
- Operate with an operational understanding of all production equipment within the department.
- Manage the handling of all raw materials (tier sheets, top frames, scrap raw materials, pallets, stretch wrap and banding).
- Maintain compliance with local and company safety policies, and follow 6S and GMP practices.
- Lead the shift towards operational goals, conduct the pre-shift DDS shift operator huddle meeting, designate daily tasks/line assignments, and ensure production schedule adherence.
- Initiate actions for food safety issues and report them to the Food Safety Team.
Requirements
- Successfully completed the Orientation Period.
- Proficient operation in all production equipment operation.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to communicate verbally and give clear direction.
- Proven attendance, safety, and quality record.
- Team-oriented.
- Multi-tasking ability.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
- Proven ability to lead a group of peers.
- Resolution of issues that may arise.
