Responsibilities
- Completes operational and pre-operational cleaning, sanitization of the meat packaging and processing machines and work areas according to USDA regulations.
- Maintains quality standards and ensures an efficient flow of product through the production process.
- Cleans office areas and meat, produce, or cheese processing areas as needed.
- Functions as a team member within the department and organization, performing any duties assigned to best serve the company.
- Reviews work schedule, performs safety checks on equipment, obtains supplies, and prepares for operations.
- Breaks down, disassembles, and cleans machinery, removing materials and placing them in proper containers.
- Scrapes material from machine parts, shovels excess into totes, soaks parts as needed, and removes tubs of meat scrap to the trash dock.
- Applies cleaning and sanitizing solutions, scrubs surfaces, uses high-pressure hoses to clean and rinse machines, and dries tools and equipment.
- Maintains and abides by USDA regulations and standards.
- Assists Packers in manual assembly of boxes-cases as required.
- Performs scheduled maintenance duties and special projects in the Meat Pack area as assigned.
- Secures all equipment at the end of the shift and completes necessary paperwork.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent
- 6 - 12 Months experience in sanitation within a warehouse and/or production environment
