About the Role
Individual provides cart and range service to patrons at night. Assists in maintaining golf carts to ensure proper working condition. Checks for damage and washes golf carts after each use. May tow golf carts (max. two carts) back to cart barn from staging area. Operates range picker on the driving range to retrieve balls and washes the range balls after each retrieval. Has an understanding of typical golf course procedures and can assist in proper night tee time management. May assist in tournament operations as directed.
Responsibilities
- Brings golf carts from cart storage area to staging area outside the clubhouse. Each cart must have scorecard, pencil, proper tire air pressure, and full sand bottles prior to being brought to the staging area.
- Checks golf cart for damage and reports/writes down any issues to supervisor.
- Returns carts to cart barn after each use and when closing; replaces pencils, scorecards, refills sand bottles.
- Throws out all trash, washes the cart top to bottom including the undercarriage, wipes cart down, and parks the cart.
- Follows the golf cart rotation schedule established by the Golf Director.
- Charges the carts nightly by putting the cord into the receptacle and ensuring the charger light comes on.
- Fixes flat tires, replaces bearings, wheels, handles, and performs other minor repairs as needed.
- Tows golf carts from the staging area/course (max. two carts towed) as needed.
- Ensures all carts are accounted for each night when closing. If cart(s) are missing, they must be accounted for before clocking out.
- Operates range picker on the range during shift. Range must be picked clean nightly.
- Washes all used range balls daily after each retrieval. Mandatory wash before closing.
- Ensures range vehicle is stored inside cart barn each night.
- Maintains cleanliness and order of cart barn inside and out. Throws out all trash from the cart barn and surrounding areas nightly before closing.
- Advises golf shop of lost items left in carts.
- Picks up flags and water coolers nightly on the course.
- Assists in keeping inventory records on equipment used, including MSDS sheets.
- May assist in tournament operations as directed.
- Performs all job functions with special attention to safety and city policies and procedures related to the job position and any other tasks assigned by Director or designee.
Requirements
- High school diploma or G.E.D. is required.
- Applicant will be subject to a complete background investigation. Incomplete, inaccurate, and/or failure to report information will result in rejection from consideration.
- Applicant must take and pass a drug, physical, and pre-placement screenings administered by the City of Mission doctor at the City’s expense.
- Neat and professional appearance.
- Willingness to work weekdays, weekends, holidays until 1:00 am.
- Current valid class “C” driver license from the Department of Public Safety with no more than two (2) moving traffic violations within the past two (2) years.
