Night Quality Technician

About the role

As a Quality Assurance Technician at Amcor, you will exemplify the Amcor Behaviors and Values, leading by example and maintaining professionalism both inside and outside the plant. You will work collaboratively with associates to ensure only quality product is released to customers, monitor production processes, and address quality concerns promptly.

Responsibilities

• Ensure product runs in accordance with the production schedule and become familiar with running products by walking the production floor.
• Collect samples from injection molding machines, secondary processes, and print lines for attribute, dimensional, and functional testing at specified frequencies. Record results on appropriate forms.
• Notify the Shift Supervisor of any non-conformances and monitor active concerns for prompt resolution, escalating issues up the management chain if necessary.
• Notify the Quality Assurance Manager of any quality defects not corrected promptly.
• Identify non-conforming product with “Hold” labels and update the hold log.
• Perform in-process attribute verifications and document checks, recording results on the Quality Monitor.
• Perform first shot verifications and document results using appropriate forms.
• Assist with LDR verifications as needed.
• Immediately notify the Quality Assurance Manager of any equipment deficiencies in the Quality Department.
• Maintain a safe working environment and ensure quality and housekeeping standards are upheld.
• Facilitate smooth shift transitions by communicating ongoing concerns or lingering issues to the incoming technician.
• Perform various other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Prior experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment; plastic manufacturing highly preferred.
• Technical background and/or experience in Quality Assurance highly preferred.
• Good computer skills and proficiency in using measuring devices such as height gages and calipers.
• Strong mathematics skills.
• Frequent exposure to the production floor, requiring the use of PPE including bump cap, safety eyewear, safety shoes, hair/beard nets, hearing protection, and disposable mask.
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Frequent exposure to fumes, airborne particles, and moving mechanical parts.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to effectively communicate with employees, vendors, and customers.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, demonstrating self-starting capabilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work as a cross-functional team member.
