Night Porter/Front Office Assistant - Bowood

About the role

Reporting to the Front Office Manager and Night Manager, you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the hotel overnight while delivering exceptional guest service at all times. You will be responsible for the safety, security and comfort of our guests during the night, while supporting front office operations and maintaining the high standards expected within a luxury hotel environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Welcoming late arrivals and assisting guests throughout the night
• Serving as a point of contact for guest check-ins and check-outs
• Assisting with luggage, room service and guest requests
• Making rounds to monitor hotel security and conduct regular patrols
• Maintaining public areas clean, tidy and well-presented
• Handling late bar service where required
• Reporting maintenance issues and ensuring overnight standards are maintained
• Responding calmly and professionally to guest queries or emergencies

The Ideal Candidate

• Will have a positive, professional and customer-focused approach
• Has excellent communication skills
• Is reliable and able to work independently overnight
• Has previous hotel or customer service experience (preferred but not essential)
• Has a calm and organised approach under pressure
• Is fully flexible to work overnight shifts
