Night Lead Custodian – Small Campus (26-27 SY)- Facilities
About the role
Ensure the building and grounds are cleaned using routine procedures to maintain a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficient building operations and grounds.
Qualifications
A High School Diploma or GED is required, or 3-4 years of experience. Special knowledge and skills include the ability to read and understand instructions for cleaning, maintenance, and safety procedures, aptitude for successful completion of tasks, and demonstrated ability to coordinate personnel to accomplish tasks.

- Broad knowledge of school housekeeping and minor repair techniques
- Ability to operate and train in cleaning equipment and the proper use of cleaning supplies

Experience
Six months of custodial services experience is preferred.
Responsibilities
Major responsibilities include custodial management, maintenance and inspection, and safety. Specific duties include:
- Working cooperatively with principals and supervisors to ensure a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency of building operations
- Supervising custodial staff and ensuring daily cleaning of buildings and grounds
- Providing training and orientation to custodians related to cleaning procedures and the safe and proper use of chemicals and equipment
- Inspecting buildings for damage and reporting, repairing, and/or cleaning as appropriate
- Assisting in performing preventive maintenance to ensure comfort, health, and safety for students and staff
- Assisting in maintaining a cleaning supplies and equipment inventory and requesting supplies as needed
- Responding in a timely manner to urgent situations or emergencies
Supervisory Responsibilities
Supervise Custodial staff.
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors
The role requires frequent standing, sitting, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting. The employee will be exposed to hot and cold temperatures, humid conditions, electrical hazards, dust, toxic chemicals and materials, noise, and vibration. The employee will also be required to lift and carry up to 30 pounds without assistance, 30-55 pounds with assistance, and more than 55 pounds with appropriate assistance.
