Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Route Planning: Develop and optimize delivery routes to ensure timely and efficient transportation of goods.
- Maintain constant communication with drivers to provide updates, address issues, and ensure compliance with schedules.
- Quickly and effectively address any challenges that may arise during transportation, such as delays, detours, or mechanical issues.
- Keep accurate records of shipments, including delivery times, delays, and any incidents that may occur.
- Work closely with other departments, sales, operations and customer service, to streamline operations.
- Provide timely and accurate communication to customers and carriers regarding shipment status, delays, and issues.
- Ensure that all transportation activities comply with Local, State, and Federal regulations.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, regulations, and best practices.
Requirements
- 1+ years’ experience specifically with domestic freight brokerage preferred
- Excellent communication skills with both team members and customers
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and transportation management software
Work Location Requirements
This position requires full-time, on-site presence at our Wilmington, NC (28403) facility. This position supports our overnight and weekend dispatch operations and averages approximately 36-40 hours per week. We currently have openings for the following: Night Dispatch Weekend Dispatch Most shifts range from 08-12 hours, depending on operational needs and coverage requirements. While these are our primary openings, we offer flexibility in scheduling and may be able to accommodate alternative evening or overnight shift arrangements for the right candidate.
