About the Role

Our Night Team Leaders are key players in managing the Overnight Team across departments such as Center Store, Prepared Foods, Produce, Bakery, and Meat. You will ensure unparalleled guest service while maintaining department records, processes, standards, and methods. Leaders are accountable for the operating performance of their department at all times and represent the organization professionally. You will promote and develop individuals with mutual respect, inclusion, diversity, and dignity, providing regular coaching and feedback to Team Members.

Responsibilities

  • Interview, select, and train Team Members.
  • Direct the work of Team Members and appraise their productivity and efficiency to recommend promotions or other status changes.
  • Handle Team Member issues, including complaints and discipline.
  • Plan, distribute, and assign work among Team Members.
  • Ensure the safety and security of Team Members and the store.
  • Manage the department budget and inventory.
  • Monitor or implement compliance measures.
  • Direct, oversee, and evaluate training to reduce turnover, promote efficiency, and control labor costs.
  • Provide motivational leadership, focusing on respect and setting an exemplary example.
  • Identify team strengths and opportunities, and strategize scheduling and team development.
  • Develop future leaders and identify Team Members poised for advancement.
  • Nurture an environment of inclusion and diversity, ensuring every Team Member has a voice.
  • Prioritize safety for Team Members, guests, and products.
  • Inspire the team and guests with a passion for food and a commitment to excellence.
  • Establish an ongoing communication plan to keep Team Members informed and prepared.

Requirements

  • Retail work experience or Store Leader recommendation.
  • Retail leadership or supervisory experience (desired).
  • Successful performance as a Peer Trainer or similar role (desired).
  • Successful performance as an in-store champion (e.g., safety, service, wellness) or similar role (desired).
  • Demonstrated product knowledge relevant to the department.
  • Satisfactory performance and discipline record.
  • High school diploma or equivalent (desired).
  • Certification or licensing varies by department.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • At least 18 years of age.
