Night Crew Leader

About the role

To supervise, direct and maintain pricing, stocking, facing and rotation of merchandise in the grocery department during the overnight hours.

Responsibilities

• Aid in training of new night crew leaders, back up night crew leaders, and new night crew employees.
• Aid in overall presentation of the grocery department (block & face) in accordance with company policy.
• Delegate and assign tasks to night crew members as directed by store management and workloads.
• Follow up on assignments and monitor productivity and performance of night crew employees.
• Maintain accuracy, product rotation, and productivity in pricing and stocking procedures.
• Minimize potential for damage or spoilage through monitoring of stocking procedures.
• Maintain general housekeeping and sanitation in compliance with company policy.
• Comply with all safety policies.
• Monitor and report any security concerns to management and 3rd shift Loss Prevention Supervisor.
• Promote and maintain positive employee relations.
• Provide coaching, guidance, and support to staff to ensure high levels of performance and engagement.
• Enforce policies and procedures as established by the grocery department.
• Notify store management of any personnel situations or policy violations requiring disciplinary action.
• Assist with unloading of merchandise that is delivered to the store.
• Assist with breakdown, placement, and stocking of merchandise.
• Assist with blocking and facing of store.
• Assist with general cleanup and presentation.

Requirements

• Adequate math skills to enable accurate counting of merchandise.
• Strong communication skills.
• Dexterity of hands to enable lifting and stocking of merchandise.
• The ability to lift up to 50lbs up to 50% of the time.
• The ability to retrieve and place merchandise on the top racks in the grocery aisles for proper storage.
• Adequate transportation to travel to specified stores.
• The ability to stand upright for most of your scheduled work shift.
