About the Role

Supervises daily laboratory operations, manages personnel, and ensures compliance with regulatory standards such as GDCH, CAP, CLIA, OSHA, FDA, and TJC.

Responsibilities

  • Oversees laboratory testing to support accurate, timely patient results.
  • Develops and implements training and orientation programs for staff.
  • Performs routine technologist duties to verify test validity and performance.
  • Evaluates new instrumentation and procedures to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Manages scheduling, payroll, supply ordering, and inventory management.
  • Interfaces with lab management to address complaints and ensure quality standards.
  • Maintains compliance with all applicable policies and standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Medical Science, or related field; Master’s preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years laboratory experience.
  • Certifications such as MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), or equivalent upon hire.

Skills

  • Strong knowledge of laboratory protocols, instrumentation, and regulatory compliance.
  • Leadership skills to manage staff and operational workflows.
