About the Role
Supervises daily laboratory operations, manages personnel, and ensures compliance with regulatory standards such as GDCH, CAP, CLIA, OSHA, FDA, and TJC.
Responsibilities
- Oversees laboratory testing to support accurate, timely patient results.
- Develops and implements training and orientation programs for staff.
- Performs routine technologist duties to verify test validity and performance.
- Evaluates new instrumentation and procedures to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Manages scheduling, payroll, supply ordering, and inventory management.
- Interfaces with lab management to address complaints and ensure quality standards.
- Maintains compliance with all applicable policies and standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Medical Technology, Medical Science, or related field; Master’s preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years laboratory experience.
- Certifications such as MT(ASCP), MLS(ASCP), or equivalent upon hire.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of laboratory protocols, instrumentation, and regulatory compliance.
- Leadership skills to manage staff and operational workflows.
