Night B Shift Case Packer

About the Role

The Case Packer operates finished product packaging equipment to prepare products and packaging according to customer specifications, adhering to company policies on Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safety.

Responsibilities

• Maintain area, equipment, and personal sanitation.
• Prepare, weigh, carry, load, and space product.
• Open and rework product as needed.
• Operate case packer and case erector equipment.
• Troubleshoot, clean, and maintain the case packer.
• Perform product changeovers using the matrix.
• Review order specifications to assemble and pack boxes correctly.
• Conduct quality checks to ensure packaging meets customer specifications (e.g., price, label, packaging).
• Communicate order specifications and quality issues to line personnel.
• Palletize product and assemble/disassemble equipment.
• Sanitize production lines when required.
• Enter data on production reports.
• Communicate safety issues to line personnel.
• Utilize downtime productively.
• Adhere to all safety policies and procedures.
• Promote and produce products in alignment with Good Manufacturing Practices and the Safe Quality Food Program.
• Perform other responsibilities as assigned by management.

Requirements

• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and related equipment.
• Ability to make minor decisions based on standard practices.
• Ability to read and prepare production reports and comprehend production worksheets.
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).

Preferred Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Ability to promote and model teamwork.
• Experience with MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) or SAP.
• Basic computer skills.

Working Conditions

• Frequent handling of materials from floor-to-waist, waist-to-shoulder, and pushing/pulling/carrying.
• Constant standing/walking; frequent bending, flexing, extending neck, gripping, reaching, lifting, and pulling with both hands.
• Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hair nets, ear plugs/muffs, hard hats, and/or safety glasses.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Repetitive work in a fast-paced production environment with temperatures averaging 50-60°F.
