Night Auditor, Part-Time Wednesday & Thursday
About the role
This position is responsible for balancing and closing the previous business day and completing daily financial reports. You will manage person-in-charge duties during the overnight shift, making independent decisions while ensuring security protocols are followed. As the manager-on-duty during the 3rd shift, you will provide the highest level of guest service, process check-ins and check-outs, verify billing, create reservations, and handle special requests.
You will assist guests with knowledge of the hotel property, local attractions, and hotel outlet hours, while actively contributing to other departments as needed. The role includes following guest service recovery programs, accurately balancing all revenue sources, preparing financial reports for managerial review, and closing the financial day for the hotel.
Responsibilities
- Balance and close the previous business day’s financials and complete daily financial reports.
- Manage person-in-charge duties during the overnight shift, including making independent decisions and ensuring security protocols.
- Perform manager-on-duty responsibilities during the 3rd shift, providing exceptional guest service.
- Process check-ins, check-outs, verify billing, create reservations, and handle special guest requests.
- Assist guests with information about the hotel property, local attractions, and hotel services.
- Follow guest service recovery programs to resolve guest concerns.
- Accurately balance all revenue sources and prepare financial reports for managerial review.
- Close the financial day for the hotel and process no-show reservations.
- Monitor room availability, follow booking policies, and utilize selling techniques to maximize room revenues.
- Upsell rooms and amenities to drive sales and revenue.
- Adhere to cost controls, reduce expenses, and ensure proper use of equipment.
- Plan, organize, and prioritize work duties to meet required work volumes.
- Assist with additional projects, stock supplies, and support overnight staff as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area in compliance with regulations.
- Follow procedures for guest and associate incidents and be knowledgeable of hotel emergency protocols.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required.
- 2+ years of prior guest service experience, preferably in a hospitality setting.
- Prior night audit or accounting experience preferred.
- Excellent computer knowledge and communication skills.
- Attention to detail, customer-focused mindset, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 75 pounds on an occasional basis.
Pay
$17.50 - $18.50 per hour.
