We are seeking a friendly, detail-oriented Night Auditor to ensure our guests have a seamless experience from evening to morning. As a Night Auditor, you will be the first point of contact during overnight hours, providing excellent service, balancing accounts, and maintaining the safety and security of our hotel.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and assist guests arriving or departing during overnight hours with professionalism and warmth.
  • Balance and reconcile daily financial transactions, including cash, credit card, and other payments.
  • Prepare and review daily audit reports, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Respond promptly to guest inquiries and resolve issues or concerns.
  • Maintain security and safety protocols within the hotel premises.
  • Complete night shift duties such as cleaning public areas, restocking supplies, and securing the property.
  • Audit, balance, and report on the various areas of the hotel (e.g., food and beverage outlets, rooms/front desk, gift shop) to provide accurate, timely information and ensure company and hotel policies are followed to prevent fraud.
  • Respond to telephone and in-person inquiries regarding reservations, hotel information, and guest concerns.
  • Audit, balance, and report on all food and beverage outlets (e.g., restaurants, lounges, banquets, room service) cash and credit operations, including checks, over/short figures, tally sheets, deposits, counts, house charges, and postings.
  • Audit, balance, post, and report on the front desk, including room charges, phone calls, zero balance folios, corrections, adjustments, taxes, disputed charges, over/short figures, and deposits.
  • Prepare and input statistics and income journal sheets for preparation of daily reports.
  • Balance and close all bank ticket codes daily.
  • Run night audit final after ensuring all revenues are in balance nightly.
  • Greet and complete check-in procedures for arriving guests using both manual and computerized methods.
  • Facilitate guest departure (check-out) on a daily basis to close guest accounts and prepare rooms for the next guest.
  • Maintain good customer relations by keeping abreast of all in-house and area functions to answer questions and concerns.
  • Operate PBX equipment, including accepting incoming calls, assisting outgoing calls, scheduling and setting wake-up calls, and paging guests.
  • Perform the duties of a Front Desk Clerk, including express checkouts.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent experience.
  • Accounting background preferred but not required.
  • Ability to operate personal computer, cash register, and calculator.
  • Ability to compile facts and figures.
  • Moderate hearing required to communicate with guests.
  • Excellent vision required for viewing CRT screen.
  • Excellent speech communication skills to interact with guests over the telephone.
  • Excellent comprehension and literacy for reading daily reports and numbers.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in hospitality or customer service preferred but not required.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Ability to work overnight shifts and adapt to flexible schedules.
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with hotel management systems a plus.

Physical Demands

  • 90% of shift is standing.
  • Repeated bending and kneeling required while filing.
  • Must be able to reach all areas of the hotel to assist clients.
  • Prolonged standing.
  • Occasional carrying and lifting of files and office items up to 25 lbs.

Work Environment

Prolonged standing at an indoor, thermostatically climate-controlled workstation under fluorescent lighting. Work inside 95% of the time.
