About the role
A Transport Respiratory Therapist is a Licensed Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) who maintains their Registered status under the National Board for Respiratory Care guidelines. Upon successful completion of NICU orientation, the Respiratory therapist will provide comprehensive respiratory and clinical care to critically ill neonatal patients. Upon successful completion of NICU orientation the Respiratory therapist will complete a Transport orientation, to include being a member of the intubation team.
Responsibilities
- Accurate assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care in accordance with established guidelines while on transport and in the Intensive Care Units or Emergency Department.
- Assists the Transport Nurse in the stabilization and care of patients during transport under the direction of protocols and designated Baptist Health neonatal physicians/providers.
Requirements
- Aceessory degree or equivalent from two-year college program or technical school or nursing diploma in Respiratory Therapy.
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- One year of neonatal experience required.
- LRCP or RRT license required.
- Able to work independently and as a member of a team.
- Excellent verbal, written and electronic communication skills.
- Maintain a body weight at or below 230 pounds to comply with flight safety regulations and weight and balance limitations during flight operations.
Pay
This job will be authorized 48.00 hours bi-weekly.
