Nichols Elementary

Frisco ISD retains the right to adjust the responsibilities and assignments of all positions as needed to meet the needs of the District.

Responsibilities

• Provide instructional assistance to students under the direct supervision of art, music, and/or physical education teachers.
• Assist in preparing, conducting, and managing classroom activities.
• Assist teachers and students in the areas of music, art, and physical education.
• Assist teachers in preparation of student work, workstations, instructional materials, and classroom displays.
• Help set up and maintain neat and orderly classrooms.
• Help with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment.
• Adjust on-the-spot instruction without immediate teacher directions when necessary and provide feedback to the teacher on students’ progress.
• Monitor and manage student behavior during class.
• Help supervise students throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom, including lunchroom, bus, and playground duty.
• Keep the teacher informed of special needs or problems of individual students.
• Uphold and enforce school rules, administrative regulations, and state and local board policy.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Participate in staff development training programs to improve job performance.
• Participate in faculty meetings and special events as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the principal.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Associates degree, two years of higher education, or have met formal academic assessment as required by the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA).
• Must register with SBEC to obtain an Educational Aide Certification.
