RCX Sports Foundation is the non-profit arm of RCX Sports, dedicated to developing, promoting, and implementing diversity and inclusion in youth sports. The foundation focuses on expanding youth sports opportunities to ensure all children can experience athletics in a safe, welcoming, and inclusive environment.

About the role

RCX Sports is hiring NFL FLAG Officials (1099 Independent Contractors) to support NFL FLAG leagues across Michigan at multiple locations. Officials are hired and staffed year-round across Spring, Summer, and Fall seasons, with assignments varying by league location and seasonal schedule.

• Training provided for NFL FLAG rules, mechanics, and game-day expectations
• Weekly pay starting at $30 per game
• Work in a fun, positive environment focused on learning, sportsmanship, and respect

Responsibilities

• Officiate youth NFL FLAG games in accordance with NFL FLAG rules, safety protocols, and the prescribed game format
• Manage game time, flow, and schedules to support efficient league operations
• Identify rule violations and communicate penalties clearly to players, coaches, and spectators
• Maintain neutrality and professionalism, including de-escalating disputes when needed
• Conduct pre-game field and equipment inspections to ensure safe playing conditions
• Complete required post-game reporting and documentation
• Promote a positive, welcoming environment that emphasizes learning, fun, and respect for all participants
• Officiate assigned games to RCX Sports standards
• Submit timely post-game reports as required
• Arrive on time and represent RCX Sports professionally at all assigned locations

Qualifications

• Physically fit, as officiating involves a lot of running
• Able to remain calm and level-headed in high-pressure situations
• Knowledgeable of the rules and referee signals (training provided)
• Strong people skills to confidently interact with players, parents, and coaches

Pay

Starting at $30 per game, with weekly pay.

Schedule

• Seasonal, league-based assignments with multiple sites across Michigan
• Hiring occurs year-round for multiple seasons: Spring (April–mid-June), Summer (mid-June–July), and Fall (September–October)
• Assignments may vary by week and site; submit your location availability in the application
• You may be scheduled at various locations within a 25-mile radius of the primary area where you apply, based on league needs and your availability
