Duties And Responsibilities

• Proactively engage and make a connection with customers.
• Asking questions and listening to customer needs.
• Directing customers to merchandise, informing them about upcoming events, promotions, and mobile offers.
• Providing premier customer service.
• Cooperating and building positive, inclusive, and respectful relationships.
• Taking accountability for own actions and outcomes.
• Maintaining store appearance.
• Selling cross-sell products and knowing the store layout.
• Making suggestions to customers on latest trends and current promotions based on individual needs.
• Upselling products.
• Leveraging product knowledge, staying updated with latest trends, and using company tools and technology to confidently provide product information.
• Using a Point-of-Sales system to process cash exchanges, discounts, gift cards, credit cards, and debit cards, including counting money and returning accurate amounts to customers.
• Completing various forms of paperwork, reports, and reconciliations.
• Managing inventory by completing inventory processes, ensuring merchandise is properly checked in and accurately ticketed.
• Might participate in periodic inventories.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of products and merchandise.
• Experience in retail, though not required.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents.
• Effective communication with customers, peers, and management.
• Ability to communicate on the telephone with proper etiquette.
• Basic math functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
• Ability to multi-task while being attentive to customers and remaining flexible to business needs.
• Teamwork and initiative without direct supervision.
• Enthusiastic, friendly, and energetic with a desire to provide outstanding service.
• Work available in various hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• No prior experience required.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Physical Demands

• Constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, and standing for at least two consecutive hours.
• May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders.
• Vision abilities include close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
• Involves lifting at least 25 lbs. and up to 50 lbs. in some departments.
• Typically performed indoors but may be assigned outdoors depending on location.
