As a Cashier you will be the face of our company, highlighting our brand and image while contributing to building our reputation as a company that values its customers and their opinions. You will assist customers, help them recognize the need for our products and services, and articulate our purpose in an educational, insightful, and professional manner. Responsibilities

• Proactively engage and connect with customers by asking questions and listening to their needs.
• Direct customers to merchandise, inform them about upcoming events, promotions, mobile offers, and the STAR card.
• Provide premier customer service and build positive, inclusive, and respectful relationships.
• Maintain the appearance of the check-out area, restock bags, packaging materials, and labels.
• Interact with customers to ensure they found everything they needed, and make suggestions based on latest trends and promotions.
• Operate a Point-of-Sales system to process cash, exchanges, discounts, gift cards, credit cards, and debit cards.
• Handle cash accurately, including counting money and returning correct change to customers.
• Maintain change funds and accounts for sales receipts.
• Complete paperwork, reports, and reconciliation tasks.
• Manage merchandise inventory, complete inventory processes, and ensure accurate ticketing.
• Participate in periodic inventories.
• Adhere to assigned work schedule and follow through on work assignments accurately.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Product knowledge and ability to articulate company purpose.
• Knowledge of Point-of-Sale systems.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to read, write, and interpret instructional documents such as safety rules and procedure manuals.
• Effective communication with customers, peers, and management, including proper telephone etiquette.
• Basic math skills: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and calculating percentages.
• Ability to make change in American monetary units.
• Ability to multi-task while remaining attentive to customers and flexible to business needs.
• Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative independent of direct supervision.

Physical Demands

This position involves constant moving, talking, hearing, reaching, grabbing, and standing for at least two consecutive hours. May occasionally involve stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing ladders. Requires close vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Involves lifting at least 25 lbs. and up to 50 lbs. in some departments. Work is typically performed indoors but may be assigned outdoors depending on location.

Qualifications

Schedule

Part-time (20 - 34.5 hours). Available to work a variety of hours, which may include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
