NewsNation is a national news cable network reaching 75 million television households across the United States, owned and operated by Nexstar Media Group. This part-time role is based in our new New York studios.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and switch video elements during live and pre-recorded programming, following the director’s commands swiftly and accurately to ensure all content meets quality standards.
- Build switcher effects, create Ross templates, and design shots using Ross Acuity Switcher, Ross XPression, and Ross XPression Tessera in a fast-paced, highly produced broadcast environment.
- Contribute creative ideas to enhance the final product.
- Train others or create training documentation as needed.
- Communicate and document effectively and concisely with the team.
- Flexibility to work any shift across the schedule is a plus.
- Perform other duties as assigned by network leadership.
Requirements
- Five or more years of experience in professional live television broadcast operations.
- Proficiency with broadcast equipment, including switchers, routing, CGs, video playback, and remote camera operation.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to think quickly to resolve issues during live broadcasts.
- Self-sufficient with a “press-on-regardless” attitude.
- Experience with robotic cameras, graphics, audio, or transmission is a plus.
- Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Communications or a related field preferred.
- This part-time position requires membership in IBEW.
Pay
$68.00 to $78.00/hour (based on experience).
