Newscast Producer
About the role
KTXS is seeking a creative News Producer to join their dynamic team. This role involves producing newscasts, collaborating with various departments, and developing content for the website.
Responsibilities
- Determine the content and flow of newscasts
- Work with management and on-air staff to generate and write stories
- Develop content for the website
- Collaborate with MMJs, Photographers, the Assignment Desk, and News Director on the newscast and its content
- Generate and write stories
Requirements
- Solid news judgment
- Compelling and accurate writing skills
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
- Experience working in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- The ability to execute news strategies and goals in daily newscasts
- Flexibility and on-the-spot problem-solving abilities are a must
- Proficient with non-linear editing (Adobe Premiere Pro) and newsroom systems (iNews)
Qualifications
- Previous news producing experience at a commercial TV station is preferred
- A Journalism degree is preferred
