Duties/Responsibilities
- Produce 30-60 minutes of local news daily
- Select stories, determine story order, write broadcast scripts, select video, create and/or order graphics and other showcasing elements to enhance viewer experience and understanding of content
- Create and execute a vision for the newscast that is anchored in the Atlanta News First brand pillars and audience research
- Collaborate with anchors, reporters, digital producers, editors, directors, management, etc., to choreograph all elements of the newscast from big picture to minute details
Qualifications/Requirements
- Required: Bachelor's degree in journalism or related field
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience producing and boothing live broadcast newscasts
- Excellent time management, communication, and broadcast writing skills
- Proven track record of working at a high level under tight deadlines
- Able to work independently and as part of a team
- Must provide samples of recent work
Preferred
- Experience in line production in a medium or large market
- Experience producing special projects, unscripted live events, digital/ streaming/ social media content
- Field producing experience
- Segment producing experience
