Job Summary
12 News is looking for a full-time photojournalist to join our news team. We're looking for someone who has a great eye for photography, someone who can tell a story with video.
Responsibilities
- Shoot and edit video of various news events for our daily news broadcasts
- Operate high-tech multimedia equipment
- Maintain assigned gear and drive a company vehicle
- Must have excellent news judgment and journalism ethics
- Must possess good organizational and time management skills
- Must be willing to work longer hours and different days as needed
Qualifications
- Associate or bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, film or related field
- Experience in television news photography is preferred, but we are willing to train the right candidate
- Ability to operate a field camera, editing and lighting equipment
- Proficient in TVU technology & other mobile news gathering, editing and sending back video/packages from the field
- Ability to lift/carry equipment ranging from 35-50 lbs.
- Must have a valid driver's license and a clean driving record
- Must have a desire to win, the ability to reflect on your work and apply feedback
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced newsroom environment
- Ability to work well with others in a team-oriented environment
- Self-starter with the ability to follow through on projects until completion
- Attention to detail, along with the ability to work effectively under tight deadlines
- Ability to represent station professionally/responsibly in the community and newsroom, and on social media
