About the role
The Simulation Academy at Yale is an after-school program designed to expose New Haven high school students to the world of medicine through hands-on simulation training and mentorship. The program has been running for 11 years and provides immersive experiences that simulate real-life emergency scenarios.
Responsibilities
- Exposure to medical simulation and STEM learning
- Guided exploration of healthcare careers
- Mentorship by Yale undergraduates, medical students, fellows, and faculty
- Weekly sessions focused on health care and STEM topics
- Behind-the-scenes tours of Yale New Haven Hospital’s emergency areas
Requirements
High school students interested in exploring healthcare careers are encouraged to apply. No prior experience is necessary.
Qualifications
Applicants should be enthusiastic about learning and interested in healthcare careers. No formal qualifications are required.

Schedule
The Simulation Academy at Yale runs from September to May each academic year. Sessions take place weekly during the school year and on weekends during summer months.
