About the role

This internship offers students enrolled in Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Public Communications Study Away programs in New York City or Los Angeles an opportunity to work with a Spectrum News team.

Responsibilities

• Pitch, research, and develop stories.
• Aid in live shows, field production, and newsroom operations.
• Create content for broadcast, digital, social, and streaming platforms.
• Learn professional editing, shooting, and writing skills.
• Support daily newsroom operations and special projects.
• Contribute to multimedia storytelling initiatives.

Requirements

• Must be currently enrolled at Syracuse University's Newhouse School of Public Communications.
• Must be participating in a Newhouse Study Away Program in New York City or Los Angeles during the internship term.
• Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.

Qualifications

• Must be actively participating in the Newhouse NYC or Newhouse LA program.
• Must have authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.

Skills

• Strong research and writing skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Pay

The base pay for this position generally is between $18.00 and $21.00 per hour. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location.
