Newborn Nursery Nursing Manager
About the role
The Newborn Nursery Nursing Manager will oversee the clinical and financial outcomes of designated clinical units. They will represent the Director of Nursing and Administration, collaborate with the Director of Nursing and Certified Nurse Coordinator (CNC) to ensure competent, cost-effective patient care, manage unit operations, personnel activities, and coordinate inter and intra-departmental activities.
Responsibilities
- Manage unit/units operations
- Manage unit/units personnel activities
- Cookordinate inter and intra departmental activities of the unit/units
- Assist with staffing the unit as needed when census/acuity dictates the need for assistance
- Develop a professional climate within the nursing unit/units
- Act as a change agent through role modeling
Requirements
- Three (3) years of clinical experience in newborn care with demonstrated management progression
- At least 2 years of CNC required
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing required
- RN licensed by the Texas State Board of Nurse Examiners
- Required upon hire (for certifications only: within 2 business days of start date)
- BLS, ACLS/ALS, NPR certification
Qualifications
