Job Overview SJKP, LLP is seeking experienced attorneys to join our New York practice in an Of Counsel capacity.This opportunity is intended for attorneys with substantial experience and demonstrated expertise who are interested in maintaining an ongoing professional relationship with the Firm while working under a flexible engagement structure. We are particularly interested in attorneys with experience in one or more of the following areas: Cross Border Transactions and AdvisoryDomestic and International Tax LawCivil and Commercial LitigationCorporate and Business LawReal Estate LitigationInternational Estate Planning and Wealth TransferDomestic and International Tax LawCross Border Transactions and AdvisoryTrusts, Estates, Probate and Estate Administration Of Counsel attorneys will independently handle matters within their areas of expertise while collaborating with SJKP attorneys and professionals in the United States and Korea on client matters and cross border opportunities. Key ResponsibilitiesProvide legal counsel and representation in matters within the attorney's areas of expertiseIndependently manage assigned matters while coordinating with the Firm's attorneys and internal teams as appropriateAdvise domestic and international clients on legal, commercial and regulatory mattersParticipate in client consultations, negotiations, litigation and transactions as appropriate to the attorney's practiceCollaborate with attorneys and professionals in the United States and Korea on cross border mattersMaintain an ongoing professional relationship with SJKP and contribute specialized legal knowledge to Firm mattersSupport client relationship management, referrals and business development initiativesFor estate planning and tax practitioners, advise on trusts, inheritance, estate and gift taxation, international tax compliance, foreign assets and cross border wealth transfer strategies Required QualificationsActive membership in good standing with the New York State BarMinimum five (5) years of relevant legal experienceDemonstrated expertise in at least one relevant practice areaAbility to independently manage legal matters and communicate effectively with clientsStrong legal analysis, drafting, negotiation and client management skillsSound professional judgment and commitment to high quality client service Preferred QualificationsSeven (7) to ten (10) years or more of relevant legal experienceExperience advising international clients or handling cross border mattersExisting professional network, referral relationships or portable client relationshipsAdmission to one (1) or more additional U.S. jurisdictionsExperience with Clio or similar legal case management systems For Estate Planning and Tax CandidatesExperience with U.S. estate and gift taxation, international trusts, foreign asset reporting or cross border succession planningLL.M. in Taxation, CPA designation or other relevant advanced qualification Salary Information and Working ArrangementCompensation: $100 to $200 per hour The actual rate will be determined based on the attorney's experience, practice area, qualifications and anticipated responsibilities. Depending on the nature of the engagement, the Firm may also consider matter based compensation, origination or revenue sharing arrangements, or a hybrid compensation structure, subject to applicable professional responsibility requirements and a mutually agreed written arrangement.
