About the role

A day in the life as an Assistant Sales Department Manager involves leading a team to achieve sales goals while delivering exceptional customer service. You’ll work closely with the department manager to execute business plans, maintain merchandising standards, and build customer loyalty through active selling.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, train, develop, and motivate your team to ensure their success.
• Assist the department manager in achieving volume and productivity goals by developing and executing a business plan.
• Teach, coach, and lead by example to ensure salespeople deliver outstanding customer service.
• Work with the department manager to maintain merchandising and presentation standards.
• Build long-lasting customer relationships and create a loyal following through active floor selling.
• Assist in accurate inventory management and achieve shrinkage goals.

Requirements

• A track record of successful results, such as strong productivity or personal trade.
• Competitive drive and entrepreneurial confidence to thrive in a commission-based environment.
• Ability to set and achieve sales goals.
• Experience developing and maintaining productive relationships with department/store managers, retail merchandisers, and other leaders.
• Strong organizational and follow-through skills.
• A high school diploma or equivalent (preferred).

Pay

Hourly pay range: $16.50 – $24.25. Offers may vary based on location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position may also be eligible for performance-based incentives or bonuses.
