New Product Specialist

About the role

The New Product Introduction (NPI) Specialist manages project delivery for new product materials, including RFQs, tooling, PPAPs, and transfers. They collaborate with the Strategic Global Sourcing team and participate in cross-functional projects.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in product platform value chain by ensuring timely delivery of material.
  • Analyze quotations from suppliers using TCO tools and negotiate costs and timelines.
  • Manage suppliers' On-Time Delivery (OTD) performance during prototype and development phases.
  • Manage PPAP orders for new parts and sustain parts, including quality inspection and engineering sign-off.
  • Work with production buyers to transfer material purchasing responsibilities after PPAP approval.
  • Manage NPI and sustaining Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) affecting new part changes.
  • Update and maintain standard costs within the system during NPI and sustaining phases.
  • Conduct and facilitate technical design reviews with suppliers to confirm functionality and manufacturability.
  • Assist the Strategic Global Sourcing Manager with supplier sourcing for new or existing products.
  • Manage and update SC War Room data, including production costs, project decks, and cost reduction initiatives.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain or related field OR 4 years related experience in a similar environment.
  • Proven experience with engineering change processes.
  • Strong communication, organization, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
  • Solid quantitative and problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze and communicate data.
  • Experience managing shifting deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Preferred qualifications include previous SAP or ERP experience, understanding of inventory management, and experience in product development cycles.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain or related field.
  • 4 years related experience in Supply Chain field.
