Duties/Responsibilities

  • Carry out psychiatric evaluations and assessments to develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Manage medications, evaluate their effectiveness, and adjust dosages as needed.
  • Create and maintain accurate medical records, including progress notes and treatment plans.
  • Collaborate with other mental health professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
  • Attend treatment team meetings to discuss patient progress and coordinate care.
  • Participate in continuing education programs to stay updated on best practices and new research.

Requirements

  • Completion of a residency training program in psychiatry and at least two years of post-residency experience.
  • M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited medical school.
  • Licensure as a physician in the applicable state, including the ability to prescribe controlled substances.
  • A valid state driver’s license may be required.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of general medicine and psychiatry.
  • Current understanding of the latest developments in psychiatry.
  • Experience in hospital and clinic settings.
  • Ability to diagnose and treat severe and persistent mental illnesses.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues and patients.
  • Objectivity and confidentiality in handling sensitive patient information.
