New Graduate Nurse - Registered Nurse Residency

About the role

The RN Resident is responsible for completing a 12‑month Nurse Residency Program designed to support new graduates with less than 6 months of experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient‑centered care following evidence‑based standards.
• Coordinate interdisciplinary communication and ensure safe, high‑quality clinical practices.
• Participate in orientation phases, specialty and core onboarding, and monthly residency sessions.
• Collaborate with care teams, support performance improvement activities, and uphold organizational policies and standards.
• Serve as a preceptor or mentor to foster a qualified nursing workforce and promote evidence‑based practice and research utilization.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (Diploma or Bachelor’s).
• Valid RN license (single‑state or multi‑state compact).
• Current BLS certification.
• Less than 1 year of RN experience.

Skills

• Strong communication, critical thinking, time management, and computer skills.
• Proficiency in clinical technology, with preferred experience in Epic and 3M systems.
