About the role

St. George Regional Hospital is seeking a New Graduate Echo / Vascular Sonographer to join their imaging team. This role offers strong clinical exposure, a supportive team environment, and opportunities for skill development.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate technical competence following departmental performance protocols
  • Prioritize and schedule exams in coordination with physicians, caregivers, and patients
  • Prepare patients by verifying identification, educating patients and families, and transporting patients as needed
  • Perform ultrasound exams consistent with established protocols and timelines
  • Ensure patient safety, comfort, and high-quality diagnostic outcomes
  • Communicate effectively throughout the exam with physicians, caregivers, patients, and families
  • Return patients to rooms post-exam and ensure stability and safety
  • Accurately document exam results and related information
  • Apply appropriate charge codes for exams and supplies
  • Clean and maintain ultrasound equipment and work areas
  • Stock supplies and coordinate repair or supply needs through appropriate channels

Requirements

  • ARDMS or CCI certification in cardiac or vascular sonography
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers

Qualifications

  • Frequent interactions with patient care providers, patients, and visitors that require verbal communication as well as hearing and understanding spoken information, alarms, needs, and issues quickly and accurately, particularly during emergency situations
  • Manual dexterity of hands and fingers to manipulate complex and delicate equipment with precision and accuracy, including frequent computer use and typing for documentation
  • Expected to lift and utilize full range of movement to transfer patients, push/pull gurneys and portable equipment, and navigate crowded and busy rooms
  • May be expected to stand in a stationary position for an extended period of time

Skills

  • Technical competence in Echo and Vascular sonography
  • Effective communication skills
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Physical stamina for lifting and moving patients

Pay

$35.25 - $54.39 per hour, actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

Schedule

Ten-hour shifts, rotating through weekend, on-call, and holiday coverage.
