About the role

The Hematology and Oncology Department at Cleveland Clinic focuses on the diagnoses and treatment of various malignancies and hematologic diseases, from new diagnosis to the end of life. The dedicated caregivers in this unit provide the highest quality, safest care to patients receiving chemotherapy, targeted cancer therapies, radioactive iodine and other types of cancer-fighting therapies. As an RN Resident on this team, you will assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send-off while also participating in a residency core curriculum based on your individual learning needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist fellow caregivers in delivering exceptional care, from initial introduction to final send-off.
  • Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.
  • Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
  • Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability).
  • Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk.
  • Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
  • Document in patients’ medical records.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited school of professional Nursing (ADN or BSN)
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross
  • New graduate RN OR less than one year of RN work experience
  • ONS Chemo/Bio course completed within two years of hire if employed on units where chemo is administered

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred

Pay

Minimum hourly: $35.50
Maximum hourly: $55.60

Schedule

Full Time
Shift: Day/Night Rotation
