About the Role

Marymount Hospital, serving Garfield Heights and the Southeast communities of Cuyahoga County, is an acute care, faith-based hospital guided by Christian values of service, compassion, dignity, and respect. As part of our team, you will work in a diverse and welcoming environment on either the 3 South or 4 South nursing units.

  • 3 South: An 18-bed observation unit with 8 private rooms, focusing on adult patients with medical conditions such as respiratory disorders, anemia, altered mental status, and cardiac disorders like heart failure and arrhythmias.
  • 4 South: A 16-bed general medical unit with 8 private rooms, providing care for a variety of medical conditions.

Typical nursing care for both units includes IV access, phlebotomy, medication administration, patient education, wound care, IV therapy, and blood product administration. You will interact directly with patients, families, and visitors to deliver exceptional care and provide healthcare information.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.
  • Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
  • Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care based on acuity of need, patient preference, and resource availability.
  • Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce, or prevent risk.
  • Seek supervision, consultation, and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
  • Document in patients’ medical records.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited School of Professional Nursing (Diploma, ADN, or BSN program).
  • Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross.
  • New grad or less than one year of RN work experience, or an experienced RN moving from a non-inpatient to an acute direct care clinical inpatient setting with less than one year of current acute direct patient care RN experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Physical Requirements

  • Full range of body motion, including handling and lifting patients, manual and finger dexterity, and eye-hand coordination.
  • Standing and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Corrected vision and hearing to normal range.
  • Ability to work under stressful conditions and irregular hours.
  • Exposure to communicable diseases and/or body fluids.
  • Medium Work: Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.

Schedule

  • Day/night rotating shifts: 7:00 a.m. – 7:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.
  • Every other weekend and holiday rotation requirements.

Pay

Pay range for new hires: $35.50 – $55.60 per hour. Actual compensation will be determined based on work history, experience, skill set, and education. The pay range does not include shift differentials, overtime, or the value of Cleveland Clinic’s benefits package (e.g., healthcare, dental, vision, retirement savings contributions).
