Responsibilities

Maintain awareness of local and national news, social media, and other digital platforms to identify story opportunities.

Create and publish multiple stories and videos daily, focusing on topics of interest to New Englanders.

Optimize content for search engines and ensure it aligns with user experience standards.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in journalism or related field, or equivalent experience
• Expertise in social media platforms, including Facebook, X, Instagram, TikTok, Reddit, Threads, and Bluesky
• Experience with AI and automation tools to enhance journalistic content
• Strong writing, spelling, grammar, and AP style skills
• Good fact-checking and reporting abilities
• Excellent organizational and attention-to-detail skills
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment

Qualifications

• Comfortable living or having deep knowledge of New England
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
• Based in the US, excluding Alaska, Hawaii, and Wyoming

The hourly rate for this role ranges between $16.44 and $33.65, reflecting market conditions, education, skills, certifications, and experience.
