New Construction Technician (CEDAR RAPIDS Data Center)
Job Summary
The primary responsibilities of the Network Technician-Data Center is to support the installation of infrastructure including but not limited to racks, cabinets, cage walls, hot/cold isle containment, grounding, fiber guide, Unistrut, and ladder rack. Other duties, responsibilities and qualifications may be required and/or assigned. This position requires fieldwork which may include overtime, weekends, holidays, and off hours. Travel may be required depending on the business needs.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform data center cage and overhead ladder rack in accordance with industry standards.
- Understand and adhere to customer timelines.
- Team player that coordinates and communicates activities with other employees, departments, and management.
- Unistrut, containment, and overhead support installations
- Measure and cut accurately, install level and plumb
- Read and follow drawings, instructions
- Collapse communication with other employees, departments, and management
Job Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of basic tools, construction practices and communication networks
- Good work ethics and a willingness to learn
- Ability to pay close attention to detail and make good sound decisions based on information given
- Ability to multitask and stay organized under pressure
- Must hold a valid driver’s license and satisfactory driving record
Education and Experience
- Education Level: High School/GED
- Knowledge of basic tools, construction practices
- Carpentry, or Electrical experience, Electronics, Telecommunications, Construction or Project Management is a plus
- Experience: 2-4 years of relevant job experience. Relevant job experience is described as job experience in similar industry or job experience with similar essential duties
Physical Requirements
- Sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl
- Ability to lift upwards of 75 pounds
- Comfortable working in all weather conditions
