New Business Underwriter

About the role

Texas Security General Insurance Agency, a company of Bridge Specialty Group, is seeking a New Business Underwriter to join their growing team in San Antonio, TX.

Responsibilities

• Process new and renewal P&C business in a timely and efficient manner to grow revenues and maintain retention and profitability.
• Underwrite new business by reviewing applications for acceptability, requesting additional information, if necessary, and accepting or rejecting risks in accordance with company guidelines.
• Underwrite renewal business by reviewing insured's file, agency experience, nature and frequency of losses, and prior carrier loss experience.
• Develop productive and profitable relationships with agents.
• Maintain a positive working relationship with the Marketing Team on a continuous basis.
• Afford assistance in training of other personnel as directed.

Requirements

• 5+ years insurance industry experience.
• Bachelor’s degree (preferred).
• Ability to obtain a P&C license (in your applicable state) in the first 90 days of employment.
• Exceptional telephone demeanor.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Licenses and certifications: Ability to obtain a P&C license (in your applicable state) in the first 90 days of employment.
• Skills: Bilingual (preferred).
