About the role

The New Business department is responsible for onboarding life and annuity policies and managing new business administrative processes within established guidelines and service level expectations. This role supports internal agent and client-facing departments and plays a key role in processing applications, handling inbound inquiries, and ensuring timely and accurate policy issuance.

Responsibilities

  • Receive and process work via telephone, email, and other electronic methods.
  • Index and submit application data into AWD, APNG, NBU, and NBUW systems.
  • Review applications, make decisions, and take appropriate actions to issue, close, and process funding sources within service standards.
  • Communicate with agents during routine policy processing.
  • Handle internal phone inquiries from agent and client-facing departments.
  • Aid with additional departmental needs, including reporting, quality reviews, testing, and special projects.

Requirements

  • Detail-oriented with strong attention to accuracy and deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks with competing deadlines.
  • Computer proficiency with willingness to learn new systems.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Professional phone etiquette and customer service skills.
  • Typing speed of at least 40 words per minute.
  • Able to work effectively in a team environment.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in insurance, financial services, or new business processing.
  • Experience working with policy administration or workflow systems.
