Main Duties And Responsibilities
- Provides Integrative Neurofeedback Therapy to patients by generating Quantitative EEG (qEEG) brain maps, running neurofeedback sessions, and completing clinical documentation.
- Provides Electromedical Therapy to patients by preparing Alpha-Stim® devices, monitoring patient sessions, and completing clinical documentation.
- Schedules patient appointments.
- Collaborates with members of the department and other clinical staff to provide updates on patients for neurofeedback and electromedical therapy.
- Tracks program data and perform basic data analyses.
- Works with IMS department to maintain hardware and software problems.
- Verifies regularly that EEG equipment and caps are cleaned and functioning properly.
- Tracks supplies necessary for delivering neurofeedback and electromedical therapy (e.g., electrode gel, plastic syringes, etc.).
- Maintains cleanliness and organization of the neurofeedback suite.
- Participates in continuing education and training to facilitate best scientific practices.
- Maintains appropriate boundaries and ethical behavior with patients, families, and professionals.
- Attends weekly departmental meetings.
- Affords assistance with department administrative tasks.
- Completes all paperwork and clinical documentation in an accurate and timely manner.
- Maintains patient confidentiality in accordance with Title 42, CFR, Part 2, HIPPA and Caron policies.
Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
- Must be able to work overtime/extended hours as needed.
- Must be able to sit for extended period of times.
- Must be able to stand for 15 minutes to position the EEG cap on the patient’s head.
- Must be able to travel and attend conferences.
Education / Experience Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, Counseling, or related science or healthcare field is required.
- Experience in the addiction treatment field is preferred.
- Education in data analysis and quantitative methodologies preferred.
- Ability to use clinical software and other computer programs.
- If in recovery, two years of uninterrupted sobriety preferred.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Must demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skill.
- Must be able to establish rapport with patients and patient’s family members.
- Must be educated in and familiar with scientific methods.
- Must be computer literate and able to work with Microsoft® applications and clinically relevant software programs.
- Possess the willingness and capacity for growth, both personally and professionally.
- Possess high degree of professionalism and treat sensitive clinical information ethically.
