Neurosurgery Physician Assistant

About the role

Bassett Healthcare Network, a progressive, academic health system in Central New York and a major teaching affiliate of Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons, is seeking a full-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the Department of Neurosurgery.

Join an established group of 2 Surgeons and 2 Advanced Practice Clinicians. Practice within Bassett Healthcare Network, an integrated system delivering care across an 8-county region. The Neurosurgery team at Bassett Medical Center has a strong relationship with the University of Rochester Medical Center and Columbia University for teaching, education, and resident involvement.

Responsibilities

• See new and established patients in clinic
• Conduct post-op visits
• Provide telemedicine services
• Manage floor care of post-op patients
• First assist in the OR

No Neurosurgery call required; General Surgical call is optional. Previous surgical experience preferred but not essential.

Clinic hours typically run from 8:00-4:30, and OR days are variable with two-to-three occurrences per week.

Requirements

• National Certification as a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner
• New York medical license (or eligibility to obtain)
• BLS Certification
• DEA Required

Pay

Salary Range: $142,809 - $186,000. This compensation range represents Bassett Healthcare’s good faith belief of the compensation range at the time of this posting or advertisement. Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards.

Sign-on Bonus: up to $75,000
