Neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner

Job Summary

As our Neurosurgery Nurse Practitioner, responsible for delivering care to patients admitted to Neurosurgery at Chandler Regional Medical Center in collaboration with the physician/medical director, you will assume clinical responsibility for tasks performed within your scope of practice. This includes taking patient's history, performing physical examinations, ordering appropriate diagnostic tests, establishing diagnosis, and providing care and management for common illnesses and disease prevention. Every day, you may assist with patient admission, transfer, or discharge. You will make appropriate referrals to specialists and community agencies, and participate in quality assurance and quality improvement programs. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to develop patient-centered plans. In addition to routine duties, you will provide care and management for acutely ill patients, respond to emergency situations, and may see patients in intensive care units or other high-acuity settings.

Responsibilities

• Assess, diagnose, and manage common illnesses and acute conditions, often in critical care settings.
• Strategically deliver comprehensive, specialized patient care.
• Perform physical examinations, order diagnostic tests, and collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team to develop patient-centered plans.
• Participate in quality assurance and ensure appropriate referrals and care management.
• Complete hospital and department documentation legibly, accurately, and within designated timeframe.
• Work in collaboration with sponsoring physician, case management, and staff nurses to provide patient care.
• Comply with legal restrictions regarding lines of authority, supervision, and communication.
• Act as a liaison between physicians, nursing departments, ancillary staff on behalf of patients and their families.

Required Job Requirements

• Masters Degree from an accredited school of nursing
• Three (3) years clinical experience
• Registered Nurse: AZ
• Nurse Practitioner: AZ
• NP-CPC (Certified Primary Care Nurse Practitioner)
• Credential as allied health professional with CRMC and MGMC DEA Drug Enforcement Administration-Control Sub Reg Cert: AZ
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support - CPR
• American Heart Association Advanced Cardiac Life Support

Preferred Experience

• One (1) year Experience as Neurosurgery NP
• NRN - Certified Neuroscience RN
• CCRN - Critical Care RN Adult/Neonatal/Pediatric/Acute
