Neuroscience Area Sales Manager - New York
Area: New York - Neuroscience. Target territory includes the tri-state area; candidates must live within 100 miles of territory boundaries with access to a major airport. Territory boundaries include: NYC & the boroughs, Suffolk & Nassau County NY, Northern New Jersey, and New Haven CT.

As an Area Sales Manager (ASM), you will lead, develop, and manage a diverse, high-performing sales team to achieve sales goals for promoted products within our psychiatry portfolio. You will set and lead the development of area strategic direction and tactical sales plans using robust analytical skills to identify strengths and opportunities while minimizing weaknesses and threats.

- Achieve business objectives and sales results by observing Account Manager interactions with target customers, extended treatment team members, and ancillary staff, providing individual coaching, feedback, and inspiration.
- Help Account Managers continue to develop for success in their current role and future growth.
- Establish a results-driven, highly collaborative team culture by demonstrating personal accountability, teamwork, and collaboration.
- Lead by example and work collaboratively across functional areas by serving as a resource and leveraging the expertise of others.
- Recruit, develop, and retain diverse, high-performing Account Managers.
- Knowing the Business
- Guide the identification of local market systems of care, patient flow, reimbursement, and provide innovative solutions.
- Identify strategic relationships valuable to the area’s business (e.g., KOLs, advocacy groups, P&T committees).
- Actively seek to discover and meet the needs of internal and external customers by building relationships and delivering innovative solutions.
- Ensure Account Managers can accurately craft Managed Markets selling messages to position Lundbeck’s products within the context of the provider’s setting and payer mix.
- Managing Execution
- Set and maintain competent product knowledge and selling skills standards within the team.
- Direct and monitor the execution of approved marketing plans and promotion campaigns.
- Evaluate and identify improvement and development opportunities for Account Managers through performance management, including clear, timely, and actionable feedback.
- Facilitate local market execution by aligning the sales force and other cross-functional areas (including alliance partners) through collaboration and influence.
- Analyze sales reports and develop action plans.
- Maintain timely communication with Account Managers, management, and in-house personnel.
- Manage multiple priorities and resources related to individual and group efforts, redirecting efforts as needed to deliver high productivity and quality.
- Ensure adherence to all organizational standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Sciences degree from an accredited college or university.
- External Candidates: Minimum of 3+ years of sales management experience in Pharmaceutical, Biopharmaceutical, Biologics, or related fields.
- Internal Candidates: Minimum of 1 year of Commercial experience in areas such as Sales Management, Training, Market Access, Sales Operations, or Marketing, or a minimum of 2 years of consistent sales success within Lundbeck.
- Documented track record of sales success and financial management.
- Demonstrated leadership with the ability to develop, train, and provide feedback to a group of Account Managers.
- Superior communication skills, both written and oral.
- Valid driver’s license in good standing; driving is an essential duty of this job.
- Must meet and comply with reasonable industry-standard credentialing requirements of healthcare providers/customer facilities for continued employment.
- Must live within 100 miles of territory boundaries.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous CNS sales management experience.
- Sales management experience and/or experience in other areas of the business (e.g., marketing, sales training, managed care, sales operations, account management).
- Sales management experience in hospital, IDN, and/or other institutional settings.
- Documented successful sales management performance, including national sales awards.
- Experience with Injectable/Infusion and/or Buy and Bill products.
- Experience working with alliance partners (e.g., co-promotions).
- Experience partnering with Advocacy groups.
- Experience building and developing effective teams.
- Experience in product launch or expansion within sales.
Travel
Willingness and ability to travel up to 70% domestically to meet/interact with customer base and internal personnel within the assigned territory, and to attend internal/external conferences and meetings spanning locations within the United States.
Pay
Salary range: $190,000 - $210,000, with eligibility for a sales incentive target of $52,500 and participation in the company’s long-term incentive plan.
