Neuropathologist

The University of California Irvine (UCI) School of Medicine Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine invites applications for a full-time faculty position as a neuropathologist. The academic appointment may be at the Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank in the Health Sciences (HS) Clinical or Clinical X (senate) series, depending on experience and extent of research effort.

About the role

• Provide patient care
• Teach fellows, residents, and medical students
• Perform public and University service
• Contribute to scholarly activities
• Mainly responsible for clinical services in neuropathology including frozen section on-call duty, service on departmental and hospital committees, and teaching and mentoring of junior faculty, medical students, residents, and fellows
• Serve the laboratory needs of UCI Health, the only academic medical center in Orange County
• Eligible for a California medical license
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Anatomic Pathology and Neuropathology
• Fellowship training in neuropathology
• Strong interest in surgical neuropathology, a commitment to education, and a record in clinical and/or translational research
• Expertise in digital pathology and artificial intelligence for clinical and research purposes

Qualifications

• Fellowship training in neuropathology
• MD, DO, or MD/PhD degree
• Board-certified or board-eligible in Anatomic Pathology and Neuropathology
• Eligible for a California medical license
