Responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat neurological diseases and disorders.
- Develop a plan of care for each patient, including complete medical history, physician examination, diagnosis, appropriate treatment and/or referral.
- Stress the importance of preventative health care measures.
- Use all available resources in diagnosis and treatment in an appropriate and cost-efficient manner.
- Confer with consulting physicians, nurses, patients and patients' families concerning treatment and care of patients.
- Takes neurological On-Call coverage on an equal rotation basis with practice peers. Refer those cases that require specialist services while maintaining responsibility to assure that continuity of care is provided.
Requirements
- Licence to practice medicine in Louisiana.
- Completion of a neurology residency.
