Neurologist

About the role

The Department of Medicine at Woodhull Medical Center, an affiliate of NYU School of Medicine, is seeking a neurologist to join their team. The ideal candidate should be comfortable diagnosing and treating a wide range of neurological conditions, including mental illness, cancer, stroke, epilepsy, spinal trauma, cognitive and behavioral disorders, infections, brain injuries, movement disorders, sleep problems, cerebral palsy, and encephalitis, Parkinson’s disease, Alzheimer’s disease, and Huntington’s disease. Candidates should also be proficient in using diagnostic tools such as MRIs, CAT scans, SPECT tests, PET scans, lumbar punctures, spinal taps, electroencephalography, electromyography, and nerve-conduction velocity tests.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and treat a broad spectrum of neurological conditions
• Utilize advanced diagnostic techniques including MRI, CT scans, SPECT, PET, lumbar punctures, spinal taps, EEG, EMG, and nerve conduction studies
• Collaborate with other specialists to provide comprehensive patient care
• Participate in medical education and training programs

Requirements

• Board Certification or Eligibility in Neurology
• Subspecialty training in Neurology is encouraged

Qualifications

• Medical degree from an accredited institution
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited residency program in Neurology
• Current New York State Medical License

Pay

Salary range: $300k-$350K
