Neurodiagnostic Technologist

Job Summary

Neurodiagnostic Technologists are integral members of the healthcare team providing care to patients. This role plays a critical part in the diagnostic process and requires a combination of technical skills and empathy.

What you will do

• May perform intraoperative monitoring, evoked potentials, nerve conduction, and/or electroencephalography (EEG) testing for all patient populations.
• Understand the testing equipment, including its structure, indications for use, physiological effects on the patient, and basic maintenance procedures.
• Possess working knowledge of the disease and pathological conditions encountered.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
• A graduate from an approved program of Electroneurodiagnostic Technology (ENDT) or similar education is preferred.
• Completion of a department-approved training program is required.
• Working knowledge of neuroanatomy, physiology, basic electronics and electrical safety, general knowledge of EEG and EP instrumentation, pattern recognition, and various medical and pharmacological conditions is preferred.
• Experience in the area of specialty or applicable health care experience is preferred.
• A Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within six weeks of employment and re-certification as necessary is required.
