Neurodiagnostic Services Supervisor 2

Under the direction of the Nurse Director and Neurodiagnostic Manager, the Neurodiagnostic Services Supervisor 2 leads Neurodiagnostic Services, overseeing technologists performing routine and complex EEG procedures for inpatient populations across all age groups. This hands-on leadership role is responsible for supervising daily operations, ensuring technical quality, operational efficiency, and service excellence.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates daily workflow, supervises and trains staff, and maintains clinical proficiency by performing neurodiagnostic procedures as needed.
• Oversees staff orientation and development, equipment oversight and troubleshooting, and evaluation of new technologies to support high-quality patient care.
• Serves as a key resource for physicians, staff, patients, and the community, partnering with leadership to support program development, quality improvement, and compliance with clinical and regulatory standards.
• Contributes to personnel management, quality assurance, and the operational and financial performance of Neurodiagnostic Services.
• Manages services including electroencephalography (EEG), evoked potentials (EPs), nerve conduction studies (NCS), long-term monitoring (LTM), ICU/continuous EEG (cEEG), and intraoperative neuromonitoring (IONM).

85% of the role focuses on professional responsibilities, while 15% involves supporting duties.

Requirements

• Registered EEG Technologist (R.EEG.T) certified by the American Board of Registration of Electroencephalographic Technologists (ABRET).
• American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross Basic Life Support (BLS), or UC Davis Health CPR certification.
• Graduate from a 2-year Neurodiagnostic technology training program accredited by the Committee on Allied Health Education and Accreditation or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Minimum of 6 years of experience as an R.EEG.T.
• Epilepsy Monitoring Unit (EMU) experience.
• Experience working in/with Epilepsy Surgical cases or cases needing EEG monitoring such as ECOG, Phase II, Laser ablation, or WADA.
• Experience working in ICU, ED, PICU, NICU, OR, and Ambulatory EEG settings.
• Ability in assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care, considering protective interventions, development (behavioral and physical), and physiological characteristics specific to patients.
• Ability to read exams and observe patient reactions.
• Mobility and stamina to participate in heavy workloads, working across the medical center and in the Midtown Outpatient Center.
• Proficient in typing and Microsoft Office applications or equivalent.
• Ability to multitask and remain calm under stressful situations.
• Skilled and excellent professional communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Long Term Monitoring Technologists (CLTM) by ABRET.
• Certification in Neurophysiologic Intraoperative Monitoring (CNIM) by ABRET.
• Registered Evoked Potential Technologist (R.EP T.) by ABRET.
• Graduated from a Neurodiagnostic Accredited Program.
• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Leadership Experience (e.g., Principal/Lead EEG Tech, Supervisor).
• Knowledgeable and experienced in Continuous EEG Monitoring and Evoked Potential.
• Knowledgeable in SPECT and PET.
• Skilled in conflict management.
• Ability to take constructive feedback well.
• Ability to collaborate with leadership, staff, physicians, and nurses.

Pay

Hourly pay range: $49.04 - $96.93 (Non-exempt).

Schedule

• Two positions available: Day shift (06:00–14:30) and Night shift (18:30–02:30).
• 8-hour shifts, 100% full-time.
• Location: Main Hospital, Sacramento, CA.
