Network Technician Internship
Job Description
UF Information Technology (UFIT) is currently seeking a talented and highly motivated, part-time Network Technician Intern to join Infrastructure Communications Technology (ICT) - Field Operations Change Request and Fixes (a unit within UFIT) for the Fall semester. This semester-long, paid internship is designed to provide students currently enrolled in college an opportunity to learn practical skills and gain experience to propel them into a successful career in Information Technology.
- Assist the team with OSI layer 1 and 2 connections within building networks, UPS maintenance, documentation updates, wireless troubleshooting and routine maintenance, and other tasks assigned based on ticket user requests.
About the Role
The intern for this position will work with the ICT Field Operations Change Request and Fixes Team, which supports and maintains the UFIT campus network. Located at the Ayers Building (720 SW 2nd Ave, Gainesville, FL. 32601), the intern will work with the team to understand and interpret the technological needs of the University of Florida’s innovative and inspirational community.
Qualifications
- MUST BE AT LEAST 18 YEARS OF AGE UF Student Assistant OPS Intern
- The ideal candidate will possess the following education, experience, and skills:
- OSI layer 1 and 2 networking
- Cisco switching background
- Basic network troubleshooting skills
- Detail-oriented
- Willingness to learn

Pay
$15.00 per hour
