About the Role
The Network and Systems Engineer at Choctaw Global is a critical role responsible for managing and maintaining the company's network infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance, security, and reliability across multiple locations. This position involves supervising IT support staff and junior engineers, overseeing network projects, and implementing system enhancements. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our technology assets, supporting remote connectivity, and driving automation initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or a related field
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in network administration and troubleshooting
- Deep understanding of communication and routing protocols
- Expertise in network operating systems and Windows Server environments
- Hands-on experience with firewalls, Layer 3 switches, and cybersecurity standards
- Knowledge of cellular technologies and routing protocols
- Proficiency with diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
- Strong alignment with organizational values and goals

Responsibilities
- Configure, implement, and maintain network, telecommunications, and server technologies
- Administer and support network infrastructure across multiple locations
- Assess system needs and recommend appropriate solutions for network improvements
- Install, configure, and test operating systems, application software, and management tools
- Plan and execute system automation initiatives to enhance efficiency
- Oversee daily network operations, including hardware/software support and special projects
- Support remote connectivity hardware/software and ensure seamless operation
- Maintain comprehensive documentation, support logs, and system records
- Monitor network security, performance, and access privileges regularly
- Establish and manage user accounts, file sharing, and security protocols
- Perform weekly backups and disaster recovery preparations
- Research, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network issues promptly
- Communicate effectively with leadership and stakeholders regarding projects and incidents
- Create and update technical documentation for network configurations and procedures
- Participate in an on-call rotation for emergency support and issue resolution
