About the Role
Design, modernize, secure, and sustain complex enterprise infrastructure across virtualized, networked, storage, backup, and forensic environments. Apply deep enterprise systems expertise to identify technical and security risks, resolve complex problems, and translate customer requirements into dependable infrastructure. Engineer and maintain integrated solutions spanning operating systems, virtualization, networks, storage, backup, monitoring, and COTS/GOTS applications.
Responsibilities
- Support Windows, Linux, and OSX environments using Hyper-V, VMware ESX, VirtualBox, Active Directory, SCOM, and VMM.
- Engineer LAN/WAN, Cisco, SAN, backup, monitoring, capacity, and disaster-recovery solutions for reliable operations.
- Evaluate technology, implement COTS/GOTS applications, automate administration, and document technical and security recommendations.
- Identify possible technical or security problems and provide documented responses.
- Support technical requirements management.
- Perform complex problem-management research and issue resolution.
- Design, engineer, test, and implement the migration of Hyper-V virtual machines from Windows Server 2008 to a Windows Server 2012 R2 clustered Hyper-V environment.
- Design LAN and WAN network solutions, including backup systems and disaster-recovery architectures.
- Evaluate hardware and software products against customer requirements for technical evaluation and potential procurement.
- Design, engineer, implement, and maintain COTS/GOTS applications.
- Automate administrative tasks through scripting.
- Provide recommendations concerning technical standards, security standards, and operational assurance during architecture and design reviews.
- Interface with vendors and third-party producers.
- Build, configure, and troubleshoot customized forensic workstations.
Requirements
- Experience with multiple operating systems, including Windows, Linux, and OSX.
- Experience with multiple hypervisors, including Hyper-V, ESX, and VirtualBox.
- Experience with Cisco operating systems, including IOS and NX-OS.
- Experience with Windows management technologies, including Active Directory, SCOM, and VMM.
- Experience with LAN and WAN deployments.
- Experience with enterprise backup solutions such as Microsoft DPM and Arcserve Backup.
- Experience with Storage Area Networks (SAN), including design, provisioning, capacity planning, and maintenance.
- Experience with network monitoring appliances.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline—or an equivalent combination of education, technical certifications, training, and work experience.
- Experience with the Sponsor's security or IT systems.
- Shell scripting experience.
- SQL Server experience and familiarity with Oracle 10g/11g and MySQL.
- Experience with Microsoft Windows 7, 8, and 10, and Windows Server 2008 R2, 2012, 2012 R2, and 2016.
- Experience using Microsoft System Center.
- Experience with storage systems, including NetApp and HP.
- Experience with VMware ESX.
- Experience with the various types of forensic software utilized by the Sponsor.
- Experience with HP servers and HP BladeSystem chassis.
Skills
Preferred certifications: VMware certification and/or Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer (MCSE).
